Hi Mike – I’ve just looked through all the photos and had to email you even though doing so will make me late going to pick Beth up from nursery! That is simply the best set of wedding photos I have ever seen.

I had high hopes having seen you in action on the day, but you have exceeded any expectations I could have had. Your “still-life”/non-people shots are perfect and really well-chosen.

The candid shots of the wedding party and wedding guests are just a joy! You have caught so many fabulous interactions, caught people quietly watching and have got some brilliant shots of people laughing together. I also love the “kid moments” you have captured. You have such an incredible talent for spotting the right things and moments to photograph, and then for making those things and moments look so photogenic and perfect. I just think you are extremely intuitive in the shots you choose and have somehow managed to be in exactly the right place at the right time- seemingly all the time! You have captured some great moments that I know only lasted a few seconds because I’ve watched the video!

The other thing I must congratulate you on is on being so unobtrusive and pleasant to have around on the day.

You have captured the warmth, fun, joy, friendship and love that the day held and I am sure that James and Clare will treasure these photographs for ever. Thank you!

I love that these bridesmaids are not looking at the camera. I like pictures of people observing things, concentrating on what they are seeing. You don’t need to see their faces to know what they are thinking. They are looking at the dancing and thinking they will one day be up there with their partners or husbands. I like that it’s in black and white: it gives drama and tells a better story.

Mike – I’ve been to many weddings when the photos have become a stressful hassle but ours couldn’t have been more relaxed. (Lee’s comment and he was dreading the photos!). You captured gorgeous moments that formal shots wouldn’t have achieved and which told a complete story of the day. The wedding album is stunning and so many people we have shown it to said it was the nicest album they had seen! It’s so much more practical when the photos are part of the page rather than loose . We were also able to have so many more photos in this style of album which was a bonus as we found it hard to chose photos we didn’t want because there were so many beautiful ones!
